Fastest Birds

There are many different kinds of birds in this world and almost all of them are different to each other on the basis of their color , their size , their shape , height of their flying areas and the most important thing is their speed of flying.

You guys are gonna familiar about the world fastest five birds after reading this. How they looks like , their names , their speed of flying and many other things. Just sit tight if you dear take interest in it I assure you , this will be awesome and you will like it.

here we go.........

Peregrine Falcon

The Peregrine Falcon is on the top of list. The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest flying bird only when diving or "stooping" as it's called in aviation and thus is subject to controversy as the leader of the world's fastest "flyers".

It's horizontal flying speed is between 80 to 90 kilometers per hour (50 to 60 mph).Although the often quoted diving speed of a Peregrine Falcons is as high as 89-157 meters/sec (200-350 mph) (321-563 km/h) the accuracy of this speed is unknown because the speed of a diving falcon is difficult to measure.

The required instrumentation is complex, and the dive of a falcon is a brief, rare event that takes place at unpredictable places and times.

These falcons are formidable hunters that prey on other birds (and bats) in mid-flight. Peregrines hunt from above and, after sighting their prey, drop into a steep, swift dive.

Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle is second fastest flying bird and nimblest raptor as well as the largest flying bird with massive velocity.Lustrous gold feathers gleam on the back of its head and neck  a powerful beak and talons advertise its hunting prowess.

You're most likely to see this eagle in western North America, soaring on steady wings or diving in pursuit of the jackrabbits and other small mammals that are its main prey. Sometimes seen attacking large mammals, or fighting off coyotes or bears in defense of its prey and young, the Golden Eagle has long inspired both reverence and fear.

Golden Eagles in North America is one of the largest birds. Red-tailed Hawk has a wingspan as wide, but now. Distance, is relatively small head and tail stick out too far from the back of the head, long.

Maximum horizontal flying speed is 129 km/h (80 mph), average diving speed is 241 km/h (150 mph) and maximum airspeed is 320 km/h (200 mph)

never forget to watch these attacks

Gyrfalcon

The largest falcon in the world, the Gyrfalcon breeds in arctic and subarctic regions of the northern hemisphere. It preys mostly on large birds, pursuing them in breathtakingly fast and powerful flight.

These falcons live in the Northern Polar regions called the Tundra. It prefers coastal areas where there are mountains. They have big variations in plumage, from nearly white to dark brown.

There name they got from the latin word "gyrus" (or circle) because of their hunting method, they glide in circles while looking for prey. Gyrfalcons do not build nests, they will lay there eggs on rocky outcrops or use another birds abandoned nest.

Average diving speed of Gyrfalcon is 187-209 km/h (116-130 mph) and airspeed is 209 km/h (130 mph)

Once a year from one to five eggs are layed and these take 35 days to hatch. Young Gyrfalcons stay with their parents for up to four months before choosing there own way. In the wild Gyrfalcons can reach an age of twenty years.

White-throated Needletail

The White-throated Needletail (Hirundapus caudacutus), also known as
Needle-tailed Swift or Spine-tailed Swift, is a large swift. It is the fastest-flying bird in flapping flight, with a confirmed maximum of 111.6 km/h (69.3 mph).It is commonly reputed to reach velocities of up to 170 km/h (105 mph), though this has not been verified.

These birds have very short legs which they use only for clinging to vertical surfaces. They build their nests in rock crevices in cliffs or hollow trees. They never settle voluntarily on the ground and spend most of their lives in the air, living on the insects they catch in their beaks.

Swift

Swifts are the most aerial of birds. Larger species are amongest the fastest fliers in the animal kingdom, Even the Common Swift can cruise at a maximum speed of
31 metres per second (112 km/h, 70 mph). In a single year the common swift can cover at least 200,000 km.

A bird best identified by silhouette, the smudge-gray Chimney Swift nimbly maneuvers over rooftops, fields, and rivers to catch insects. Its tiny body, curving wings, and stiff, shallow wingbeats give it a flight style as distinctive as its fluid, chattering call.

This enigmatic little bird spends almost its entire life airborne. When it lands, it can’t perch—it clings to vertical walls inside chimneys or in hollow trees or caves. This species has suffered sharp declines as chimneys fall into disuse across the continent
